We are thrilled to announce that Abhiman Kaushal, Tabla, Rahul Neuman, Sitar and Michael Reidinger, Tabla and Friends will be inspiring us all with their enchanting sounds on Saturday Evening, March 2nd, 6:30pm at the Ananda Verandah. This concert brings Amma Sri Karunamayi to Santa Barbara on March 27 and Ojai on March 29 - 30 and benefits her charities.

About the Concert
Abhiman Kaushal will be presenting the nuances and beautiful compositions of Tabla, and reciting ancient drumming poems, called Parans, to Deities. After a short break, he will be performing some evening Classical Indian Ragas with Rahul Neuman on Sitar.
Michael Reidinger and Friends will be sharing (Kirtan) call and response chanting with Reidinger on Tabla, accompanied by musicians on Harmonium and other instruments.

Abhiman Kaushal, Tabla
Abhiman Kaushal is an outstanding tabla artist who is much sought after for his sensitive accompaniment and intense solo playing. He represents the Farukkabad and Lucknow styles of tabla. Having been initiated into the art by his father R. B. Kaushal, who was a disciple of the legendary Ustad Amir Hussain Khan, Abhiman later continued his training under the famous Ustad Sheikh Dawood of Hyderabad, India, and the Ustad's senior most disciple, Pandit B. Nandkumar. Abhiman has accompanied most of the leading musicians, singers and dancers of North Indian classical music and has toured around the world performing in prestigious venues. Rahul Neuman, Sitar
Rahul Neuman has been a student of Hindustani music since he was a child. He began studying sitar at age 12 with his aunt, Sharmistha Sen, and Jeff Lewis, a disciple of the late Z.M. Dagar. In 1992, Rahul began intensive training under his guru, Ustad Shujaat Khan, in Seattle, where he was a visiting artist at the University of Washington. Rahul made several subsequent trips to New Delhi, India, where he continued training under the guidance of his guru. Rahul has performed at a variety of venues in Delhi, Chicago, and Southern California. Rahul is an Artist-Teacher in Residence for the Center for World Music in San Diego and also teaches at the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA. Website

Michael Reidinger, Tabla and Latin Percussion
Michael Reidinger (Ghan-Ji) has been studying and playing percussion instruments since 1974 when he was introduced to the ‘Trap Set’ by his stepfather via Buddy Rich. From ‘Marching Band Geek’ to ‘1st Chair Snare Drum’ in Orchestra, Michael has shown a passion for Rhythm. Introduced to Kirtan music (Call & Response chant) in 2005, he saw his first set of Tabla and was drawn to them instantly. He is a disciple of the great tabla maestros Aaron Plunkett, Girish and Ranganath O’Keefe. His studies of Classical Indian, Kirtan, Rock and New Age music have provided him with versatility one needs for today’s dynamic musical environment, and he has performed Harpist Peter Sterling, Richard Hardy, Girish, Montino Bourbon, Joss Jaffe to name a few. All are invited to hear her inspiring message, join with her in singing devotional songs, and receive the blessings of her divine knowledge and love.
